According to official information from the Red Dot Award organizing committee, the "BBQ-Thermometer" designed by Wu Qi, a Product Art Design lecturer for Zhonshan Polytechnic's Department of Art Design, won the Red Point Award.

Before teaching at Zhongshan Polytechnic, Wu Qi used to work for Foxconn Group, and led more than 100 international brand product designs for companies such as Nokia, Motorola, Apple, SHARP and HTC. Many of the products she designed have long been ranked on the "best seller" list on Amazon.

Wu Qi said that her first intention to move into the education industry was to be able to impart the professional knowledge she had learned to students and to make a modest contribution to the development of the industry.
