The final of the 2020 Guangdong Youth Culture and Tourism Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in South District, Zhongshan on November 12. More than 600 cultural tourism programs from all over the province and Hong Kong and Macao regions participated in the competition.
The competition set up a distinctive local cultural heritage project design competition group for Zhongshan's rich overseas Chinese culture. More than 40 representatives from various cultural and tourism marketing enterprises, cultural and creative product developers, Guangdong's cultural and tourism entrepreneurship and local cultural conservation institutions, and architectural design teams from Guangdong Province and Hong Kong, on behalf of their respective industries, all visited South District to conduct a survey on overseas Chinese house conservation-related projects and submitted and designed a series of excellent works.
After nearly five months of fierce competition, 24 projects stood out above the rest. First, second, and third places were decided in the final, with a total prize of 740,000 yuan. Five projects including the "Little Paper Craftsman" paper culture and art research tour base from Zhongshan were among the top 24 projects.
The competition has been held every year since 2014. Through its history it has attracted nearly 17,000 entrepreneurial teams, been responsible for the founding of nearly 3,000 high-quality youth entrepreneurial projects, distributed more than 7 million yuan in prize money, and drove the establishment of nearly twenty 100-million-yuan-level enterprises.
