Zhongshan rolls out new policy to support cross-border e-commerce

Zhongshan held a conference on February 15 on promoting economic development and rolled out a series of new policies. Among them, "Zhongshan's Twenty-four Measures Supporting Cross-border E-commerce" will promote Zhongshan-based enterprises and "Made in Zhongshan" products to go overseas. The main contents include:

The new policy will support the construction of independent cross-border e-commerce sites, and 30% of the construction cost of these sites will be covered, with a maximum amount of 200,000 yuan. For independent cross-border e-commerce sites with trade volume reaching 750,000 US dollars, a maximum 50% of the construction costs will be covered, with a maximum amount of 300,000 yuan.

Enterprises are encouraged to build overseas warehouses independently, through mergers and acquisitions or leasing, 30% of enterprises' costs will be covered, with a maximum amount of 500,000 yuan. For qualified enterprises operating public overseas warehouses, 30% of the costs will be covered, with a maximum amount of 2 million yuan.

The new policy will support brand cultivation of cross-border e-commerce enterprises.  Enterprises that register their own trademarks overseas will be financially supported based on the region and type of the registered trademarks. This includes 30% of enterprise overseas marketing and promotion costs on overseas social media, search engines, short videos and etc, with a maximum amount of 500,000 yuan.

For cross-border e-commerce industrial parks with an area of more than 10,000 square meters, over 60% of which are cross-border e-commerce sellers and related service providers, and with the total annual cross-border e-commerce trading volume reaching 20 million USD, 500,000 yuan will be given to industrial park members. One million yuan, 500,000 yuan and 300,000 yuan will be given to national, provincial and municipal cross-border e-commerce parks respectively.

Cross-border e-commerce enterprises are encouraged to carry out business training for their employees through universities, social training institutions and cross-border e-commerce platforms. For enterprises who train more than 100 people annually, 30% of the training expenses will be covered, with a maximum amount of 200,000 yuan. Vocational schools and universities with cross-border e-commerce related courses will also receive special financial support.
