The large-scale symphony song suite concert "The Myths Of China" co-sponsored by the Wuhan Conservatory of Music (WCOM) and the Publicity Department of the Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee was performed at the Hubei Theater on June 10 and 11.

The concert was jointly performed by renowned composer and vocal educator Yao Feng and vocal teachers of WCOM, the Oriental Symphony Orchestra and the Oriental Choir.

Seven well-known vocal music works composed by Yao Feng, such as "New Leap after Reform and Opening up", were presented in the first half of the concert. The touching notes and attractive melodies described the beautiful sceneries of the motherland.

The Myths Of China is the largest symphonic chorus tone poem in China. This work was authored by Zheng Jisi, a local writer in Zhongshan, composed by Yao Feng and orchestrated by Du Ming. It is derived from 10 representative ancient myths such as "Pan Gu Creates the World" and "Nuwa Repairs the Sky" for its narration and lyricism. It interprets the great culture and national spirit of China.
