In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Spain and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of sister relations between Guangdong and Catalonia, "Going Into Europe" the Zhongshan-Spain Festival opened at the Zhongshan Museum on August 2.

A series of events will take place this month, including the "Encuentro con el Prado" exhibition, the Feria de Productos Espanoles (Spanish Goods Festival), a trade and tourism promotion conference, the Festival de Gastronomia Espanola (Spainish Food Festival), and etc.

Encuentro con el Prado - Spanish Paintings Exhibition

Time:  August 2 - September 1 

Venue: 3F, Zhongshan Museum (中山市博物馆)

Twenty-nine most representative works selected from Spain's Museo Nacional del Prado's collection are on show. 

Among these masterpieces, Las Meninas, created by Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Velazquez, a Spanish painter in the 17th century, debuts in Zhongshan as a full-size replica.

Festival de Gastronomia Espanola - Spanish Food Featival (Buffets)

Time: 18:00-20:00 August 2 - August 6 

Venue: 1F, Sheraton Zhongshan Hotel (中山喜来登酒店)

Renowned chef Mr. Michael Barazi is invited to lead this event. With specialties such as Spanish seafood paella, Gazpacho, and Tortilla de Patatas, people can fully experience the taste of Spanish culture.
