In the late November, groups of egrets can be seen flying freely on the water's surface and over treetops by the ponds of Fulong Pumping Station in Sanjiao Town and the Hongqili Waterway nearby, presenting a poetic picture of harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature.

Egrets require specialized habitats and are recognized worldwide as "environmentally vulnerable species". In recent years, Sanjiao Town has made great efforts to build a ecology-friendly environment with clean rivers and lush mountains. The continuous recovery of wetlands and significant water quality achievements have encouraged flocks of egrets to live here. Diyin Lake has become a paradise for birds and Fulong Pumping Station a home for them.

"Egrets can be seen not only at Diyin Lake and Fulong Pumping Station, but also on the banks of the levee. They usually forage at eight or nine in the morning and five or six in the evening. If you want to watch birds, you should choose a suitable time and be careful to not disturb them," said Wu Jiarong, a staff member of Fulong Pumping Station in Sanjiao Town.
