"With one click on the website, overseas fellow villagers can find out the latest news of the Yu's Family." Yu Guihong, a staff member in charge of repairing The Yu's Genealogy Tree in Dieshi Village, Dachong Town, said proudly to Zhongshan Daily.

Last year, they transformed the traditional paper genealogy model and established their own digital genealogy. Now, by clicking on the website of the "Zhongshan Yu Clansmen Association" (www.zsfct.net), one can find out the historical origin of the Yu's Family and the basic genealogy information of his family branch.

The website consists of eight sections, including Yu's News, Yu's Genealogy and Zhongshan Yu's Family Members, with everything from latest activities to the origins of the entire Yu's family.

Yu Guihong said that planning is still underway on the development of mobile phone software, which will make it more convenient for local clansmen to contact overseas fellow villagers.

Dieshi Village is located at the foot of Zhuoqi Mountain in Dachong Town. It has a history of more than 800 years since the first year of the Qing Dynasty in the Southern Song Dynasty. The total population of the village is over 3,000, of which the Yu and the Luo families are the most popular families in the village.
