With the opening of the Huangpu section of Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway, Dakui Ferry in Huangpu Town has completed its mission with honor and has closed recently.

Located in Dayan Village, Huangpu Town, Dakui Ferry opened in the 1950s. The ferry operated between Dayan Village, Huangpu Town in Zhongshan and Fangma Village, Dagang Town in Guangzhou, enjoying the longest crossing distance, about 1 kilometer, in Zhonshan. It was also one of the few cross-city ferries in Zhongshan.

Knowing that the ferry would be closed, some people in Dagang Town, Guangzhou rushed there by motorcycle to witness its last day of operation.

Five ferries in Huangpu Town have been closed one after another since 2007. At present, the remaining ferries in operation in Huangpu Town are Dajiao Ferry in Zhaofeng Village and Zhonglang Ferry in Hengdang Village.
