The 11th Zhongshan Book Fair that lasted 4 days ended on July 15 evening. Li Meijin, professor at the People's Public Security University of China, presided over the last lecture, thereby triggering off the upsurge of the event. Over a thousand readers attended the lecture on the scene or through a live stream.

Statistics released by the organizing committee show that about 150,000 people attended Zhongshan Book Fair this year.

On the morning of July 15, Xiaolin, a grade four pupil from Henglan came to the fair accompanied by her mother. "We attended the fair last year. This year I bought Le Petit Prince and Andersen's Fairytales for my daughter, and How to Win Friends and Influence people for myself," said Xiaolin's mother, adding that she was very satisfied with the guidance of "100 Recommended Good Books" which helped them select good ones.

Zhang Jiaguang, 74, said that he had been to more than four Zhongshan Book Fairs and attended the recent two. Zhang praised the staff for their excellent service. "They are patient and courteous. They answered my questions repeatedly and tried hard to find books for me".

The Zhongshan Book Fair has been organized for eleven years. What hope do citizens have for this event?

Xiaolin was deeply impressed by the special booth for "Aerospace STEAM Experience Museum". Her mother said, "we hope that there will also be a book fair during the winter vacation. Besides, we hope that the book fair may be organized into a reading carnival, integrating books with high-tech exhibitions, so that children can gather a wide range of knowledge."

"When I heard that Prof Li Jinmei has been invited to lecture, I became very interested. So I came, and found the lecture packed," said Mr Lai, a legal worker. "The lecture is related to family psychological upbringing. I saw many parents taking notes, which deeply impressed me. I hope that more thoughtful masters would be invited to bring us more knowledge from all works of life."
