It would take you a minimum 150 minutes driving from Zhongshan to Shenzhen. But now, the traveling time could be shortened to 45 minutes by taking "water bus" voyaging through Lingdingyang Estuary.

At 10:40am on August 18th, the "Zhongshan" ship departed from Zhongshan Port, carrying over 300 passengers, and arrived at Fuyong Pier of Shenzhen 45 minutes later. The journey marks the official opening of "water bus" routes between Zhongshan and Shenzhen, ending the history of no direct voyage between the two cites.

"Unbelievable! It takes much less time to get to Shenzhen than it does by driving through Humen Pearl River Bridge." Mr Lu, one of the Zhongshan citizens who had experienced the maiden voyage of water bus said happily. "In the past, we were often struck in a traffic jam for hours in Humen Pearl River Bridge. Time is money, in particular for our businessmen. I believe more and more people will choose to go to Shenzhen by ship because of its low cost of time."
