On November 14, the list of the 5th National Civilized City was released. Zhongshan has passed the review and retained the title, receiving this honor for 5 consecutive times. 

“National Civilized City” is the most comprehensive and valuable award reflecting the development level, comprehensive strength and citizen quality of a city. Since 2005, there have been 5 evaluations for “National Civilized City”, the list of which is released every 3 years. 

Totally 89 new cities won the “National Civilized City” title this time, including Guangdong’s Boluo County, Longmen County and Sihui City. The other 83 cities, including Guangdong’s Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Guangzhou and Foshan, passed the review and retained the title. 

Currently, Zhongshan includes 8 “National Civilized Town”, 8 “National Civilized Unit”, 16 “Provincial Civilized Town” and 36 “Provincial Civilized Unit”.
