The China Charity Cities Conference was held on November 5 to 6 in Guangzhou City. During the event, China Charity Alliance released the 5th Urban Charitable Index of China, according to which Zhongshan ranked 31st nationwide with a score of 81.04 points.

Urban Charitable Index of China, also described as “Urban Love GDP”, is an indicator system used to comprehensively monitor and scientifically evaluate the development level of regional charitable cause.

The latest index analyzes the charitable performances of 221 sample cities across China in 2016-2017 in terms of social donation, voluntary services, social organization and government support from the angles of structure, scale, contribution and sustainability. The sample cities, including 43% of prefecture-level cities and 23% of county-level cities nationwide, distribute in 26 provinces and cover a population of 635 million.

Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen were the top3 in the “love GDP” ranking.

In the past years, Zhongshan sees stable development of charitable cause and makes achievements in social donation, voluntary services, social organization and government support.
