Chen Wenfeng, Vice Secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, met the delegation led by Johnson Elimo, Governor of Chuuk State, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) on the afternoon of June 5. Both parties exchanged their views on enhancing friendship and promoting trade and cooperation in various sectors.

Chen first warmly welcomed the delegation. "In recent years, Zhongshan and FSM have established remarkable cooperation and trade in many sectors. The representatives of both nations have built up profound friendship in these exchanges as they draw closer to each other", said Chen. At the beginning of 2019, the delegation of Xiaolan Town visited Chuuk State, which opened a new chapter of mutual visits between both places. It is believed that there will be more exchanges and cooperation in medical, sports and cultural sectors between Zhongshan and Chuuk State. Moreover, their friendship will be deepened.

Governor Elimo said that this was the second time he visited Zhongshan. He thanked Zhongshan for its active commitment to friendly exchanges and cooperation in recent years. Chuuk State enjoys a great natural environment and abundant fishery resources, with a good foundation of tourism industry. Elimo hoped that Chuuk State would cooperate with Zhongshan in the tourism and cultural sectors in the future, strengthen cultural exchanges between both nations and keep their friendship.
