Chen Xudong, Secretary of Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee, led the Zhongshan delegation to Austria and Switzerland from June 7 to 13 for investigation and exchange, focusing on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, medical and health care, education, and culture.

In Austria, the Zhongshan delegation met with Wolfgang Eisl, Director of China Affairs Office of Salzburg, and visited Porsche Holdings and the Austria-China Promotion Association for Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

In June 2018, Porsche, the largest automobile trading group in Europe, signed an investment agreement with Zhongshan on the 4S store project, which is expected to go operational by June 2020. During his visit to the Porsche headquarters, Chen Xudong said that Zhongshan is one of China's auto component manufacturing bases and hopes to strengthen cooperation with Porsche in terms of industry matching, project investment and technology research and development, so as to improve the industrial level and achieve win-win results.

Pharmaceutical industry is one of the pillar industries in Switzerland. During this visit, the Zhongshan delegation organized the Zhongshan China-Switzerland Medical and Health China Development Forum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In order to further promote the construction of a livable, business and tourist-friendly high-quality living circle where people work and live in the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Zhongshan delegation also visited the World Health Organization Emergency Operations Centre to learn advanced concepts.

During this visit, the delegation visited ABB, Amcor, Enor Bioenergy, Pilatus Aircraft, Swiss Helicopter company Kopter, military industrial complex RUAG and etc, and reached a series of consensus on cooperation in the fields of power and automation, smart energy, equipment manufacturing and new packaging materials.

The Zhongshan delegation also visited the Lausanne Hotel School to promote cooperation in running schools between both sides.

During this visit, Zhongshan signed a number of cooperation projects with Switzerland, including cooperation with the Swiss Vitamin Institute in vitamin analysis, development of new preparations, SVI certification and public health services. It also signed a framework agreement with the helicopter company Reheavi to jointly build a helicopter training center and promote cooperation in helicopter training through school-company cooperation and the combination of learning and application.
