According to the Zhongshan Bureau of Ecology and Environment, the phase II project of the atmospheric environment grid monitoring system has been approved by experts. Hence, 200 new environmental air quality micro-monitoring stations have been launched. The atmospheric environment grid monitoring system covering the whole city with a high density of 2km×2km has roughly come into shape.

The construction of the atmospheric environment grid monitoring system of Zhongshan began in 2017. The phase I project completed in February 2018, with a total of 100 micro air monitoring stations set up in a scientific manner in the central urban area, major air pollution transmission channels and key industrial parks in Zhongshan.

In the first half of 2019, another 200 micro air monitoring station are added in Zhongshan, with the density of 2km×2km.

The 300 micro air quality monitoring stations can generate pollution source distribution maps, real-time environmental quality maps, pollution trend change maps, grid distribution maps among others. These are achieved through visualization functions such as data platform and mobile APP of the atmospheric environment grid monitoring system, for the purpose of boosting resource resolution accuracy and accurately positioning the source of pollution.
