Director of Zhongshan Housing Fund Management Center Zhao Guojian and deputy directors Liu Jieping and Huang Qiling were invited to the "People's Voice on Friday" radio program on August 16 to interact with citizens on topics such as housing provident fund loans.

Zhao Guojian revealed that from January to July this year, Zhongshan's housing provident fund loans increased, and more than 7,400 loans were issued, totaling 3.588 billion yuan. The amount of the full year 2018 was 1.32 billion yuan.

Zhongshan Housing Fund Management Center predicted that the annual issuance of housing provident fund loans might reach 6 billion yuan, which would be a high record and a double increase 

Huang Qiling said that among the housing provident fund loans issued from January to July, about 5,500 cases were issued for first-hand houses which accounted for 75%, while the loans for Zhongshan depositors were about 5,800 which accounted for 79%.

Why is the housing provident fund loan so popular among citizens? Huang Qiling believed that 3 reasons accounted for its popularity: first, from last year, the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Housing Provident Fund of Individual Housing Loans in Zhongshan" and the "Measures for the Individuals to Use the Housing Provident Fund on A Voluntary Basis in Zhongshan" were fully implemented, which stimulated the loan potential; second, another important reason for the substantial increase in the loan issuance of the Zhongshan Housing Fund Management Center was that the real estate management department lifted the control on online signing and filing;  third, the interest rate of the provident fund loan was relatively low.
