China set a new Asian record at the IAAF World Relays held in Yokohama, Japan in May, as their men's 4×200m team clocked 1 minute 21.70 seconds in the preliminaries.

Among the 4 relay team members, the 21-year-old Lin Junhong comes from Zhongshan.

Lin was born in 1998 at Shijing Community in Dachong Town. He enrolled in Zhongshan Sports School and started to receive professional training in fifth grade.

"Hobby is the best teacher," Lin says. In Zhongshan Sports School, running was turned into his profession from a hobby.

In 2016, Lin was selected as a member of the Tianjin Track and Field Team. In 2018, he took part in the national sprint, hurdle, jump and relay competition representing the Tianjin team, and clinched his career first national champion in Men's 200m with 20.79 seconds.

Renowned Chinese sprinter Su Bingtian is a sports star Zhongshan citizens are proud of. Lin says Su Bingtian, who also graduated from Zhongshan Sports School, is both his idol and his goal.

"I know currently I am not capable of participating in the Olympics. I will train harder, and I hope one day I can win glory for the country like Su Bingtian," says Lin.
