On October 19, the 23-year-old Huang Liru, a Zhongshan native, defeated her teammate Lan Yu in Wuhan University of Technology, and won the gold medal of the women's 52kg judo for China at the 7th CISM Military World Games.

Zhu Rongqin, judo coach at the Zhongshan Sports School, shared the good news with friends on WeChat on October 20. According to him, Huang Liru was born in Tanzhou in 1996 and came to the Zhongshan Sports School for training in September 2006.

In 2010, the 14-year-old Huang Liru went to the Guangdong Sports School and then to the Bayi Team. Later, she won the National Youth Championships in 2013 and 2014, and finished third in the women's 57kg judo in the 2017 Tianjin National Games.

"This is the first time she attends the Military World Games," said Zhu Rongqin, adding that for the Military World Games, Huang Liru lost weight in order to compete in the women's 52kg judo and won the championship with an outstanding performance.
