From September to October, blood donation theme activities were organized across the city, which set off a blood donation boom. Shiqi District, Torch Development Zone, Sanjiao Town, Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan Health Bureau and other departments as well as the majority of caring citizens participated in the event.

In recent years, Zhongshan has seen an increasing number of voluntary blood donors and a growing blood volume. As of late, more than 500,000 people have donated blood in Zhongshan.

From January to September this year, some 36,751 people in Zhongshan donated blood, of which 34,688 donated whole blood, totaling 11.8 tons. And 2,063 donated fresh apheresis platelets, totaling 3,716 therapeutic doses.
