The Annual Salary Survey Report of Guangdong issued by the South China Market of Human Resources, Guangzhou Human Resource Service Association, Guangzhou Human Resource Research Institute and Guangzhou Southern Human Resource Evaluation Center Co Ltd for 14 consecutive years was recently released.

The report covers 9 cities in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province and involves 400 jobs in 19 industries.

Data show the average monthly salaries of these 400 jobs have increased in varying degrees, and average growth is about 3.37%.

Shenzhen ranks first with an average monthly salary of 9,890 yuan among the 9 cities, followed by Guangzhou (8,973 yuan) and Zhuhai (7,861 yuan). Zhongshan's average monthly salary stands at 6,802 yuan, with the largest year-on-year increase of 5.46%.

The average salary of the Internet, Software, IT Services and Information Transmission sectors remains the highest increase, reaching 9.23% year-on-year. Financial Industry is well ahead of others, with an average monthly salary of 16,229 yuan.

It is worth noting that the average monthly salary of Accommodation and Catering Industry is only 4,975 yuan, 34.67% lower than the provincial average salary.

On the whole, the salary of employees positively correlates with their education background and years of working; the more education employees have and the longer time they work, the higher salaries they can get on average.
