The first 40-meter box girder of contract section S07 of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, was successfully erected by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co Ltd at the construction site beside Hongqili Waterway in Tsuihang New District on November 21.

The 1.6-km land approach bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge includes the main bridge and ramp A and B. A total of 636 prefabricated box girders, 40 meters in length, will be erected.

"The successful erection of the first box girder brings the land approach bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge into the rapid construction phase of the superstructure," said Li Yong, chief engineer of Division 1 of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge Project of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co Ltd.

According to reports, the beam erection construction of the land approach bridge will enter the beam erecting machine operation phase in late December. According to the construction plan, the beam body erection of the land approach bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, and the construction is expected to be finished in June 2021.
