The 2019 Outstanding China-Foreign Youth Exchange Program of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) list was recently released, with 225 young talented persons selected. Gao Qingguo, a teacher from UESTC, Zhongshan Institute, was on the list. Zhongshan Institute has also become the only one among similar universities nationwide with a teacher being selected.

Gao Qingguo, 27, is a doctor in engineering. Majoring in microelectronics and solid-state electronics, Gao graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in June this year. He later joined UESTC, Zhongshan Institute to become a full-time teacher.

"This program mainly supports young scientific and technological talent to carry out international visits and exchanges focused on major national strategic needs. I am mainly concerned with frontier research on new semiconductor devices and their high-frequency applications. I have the experience of publishing papers in high-level publications and have certain scientific research capabilities and potentials in the construction and research of new semiconductor devices," said Gao Qingguo.

Gao will later visit foreign laboratories for exchanges. "I hope that the preparation of ultra-short channel molybdenum disulfide radio frequency transistors and the structural design of new high-performance transistors will be attained through exchange activities," said Gao Qingguo.
