After several months, the renovation of the dilapidated building located on No.72 Minzu East Road in Shiqi District has entered the final stage. Recently, some representatives of Shiqi District People's Congress inspected the project.

At the construction site, it can be seen that the reinforcement of walls and floor slabs has been basically completed, and some rooms are undergoing waterproofing treatment and wall plastering.

"After reinforcement and renovation, this building can be used for another 20 to 30 years," said the head of the construction unit.

This 5-floor building, with a construction area of 996 square meters, was built in the 1970s and has been in use for more than 40 years. In April 2018, the building was found to have potential safety hazards, and it was identified as a Grade-D dilapidated building.

In order to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, Shiqi District set up a special working group to mobilize residents in this building to evacuate within a time limit and to carry out the renovation.
