Tan Jian, the owner of Hetina Xiangye Homestay Hotel in Nanlang's Yakou Village, was tidying up his courtyard on January 20.

As a native of Yakou, Tan Jian after his retirement built a homestay hotel on his homestead. In order to help visitors to gain better understanding of Nanlang Town's folk customs, history and culture, Tan Jian volunteered to serve as a tour guide and publicity agent. He not only explained Sun Yat-sen's culture and Yang Yin's stories, but also made a tourism road map covering ecology, leisure, entertainment, special delicacies, sightseeing, and rural experiences at his own expense.

This map not only shows the locations of a 100 mu (about 6.67 hectares) lotus pond, an egret habitat, people's commune rice fields, the Jiyi Temple, and other tourist spots at Yakou Village, but also the names and locations of each of the shops at Yakou Seafood Street and Yakou Casserole Rice Street. It also shows the locations of Cuiheng International Tourism Town, the former residence of Dr Sun Yat-sen, the Memorial Park of the 1911 Revolution, Cuiheng Art Creation Base, Mangrove Wetland, Coastal Hot Springs, and other popular tourist points in Nanlang Town, as well as providing information on basic transportation hubs such as inter-city rail stations and the airports.

"I hope to take this opportunity to integrate the tourism resources of Nanlang and promote its tourism brand image," said Tan Jian.
