Affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Zhongshan sees an obvious shortage of hands this year. The proportion of employees returning back to their previous workplace is relatively low. About 56,000 new employees are still needed by enterprises that have resumed normal operation.

Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau (ZSHRSSB) has taken a number of measures to provide enough manpower for enterprises and has taken various actions to promote the safe and orderly resumption of work and production.

Carrying out job fairs online is an important measure to solve the labor shortage during the epidemic prevention and control period. "Our government affairs WeChat platform 'Public Recruitment' has attracted about 18,000 new users to submit their resumes online."

According to a staff member of ZSHRSSB, up to now, Zhongshan has held 15 online job fairs of various types, with more than 1,200 enterprises providing more than 76,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, the human resources and social security departments have also launched employment guidance services to guide local labor to find jobs nearby, helping enterprises to recruit 9,523 people directly and 12,519 people indirectly by cooperation with enterprises.

ZSHRSSB has started its recruitment campaign in three places: Western Guangdong, Guangxi, and Zhaotong to recruit employees for Zhongshan enterprises. The first batch of more than 120 workers from Suijiang county, Zhaotong city of Yunnan province will arrive in Zhongshan on February 20.
