Guangdong recently reported the results of the 2019 Evaluation of Legal Construction. Zhongshan scored more than 90 points in the evaluation and was appraised as excellent. 

Since 2019, Zhongshan has attached great importance to legal construction and improved the system of governing the city by law. At the same time, Zhongshan has made good use of local legislative powers, promoted development in accordance with the law to ensure good governance, strengthened social governance, and promoted legislation in key areas such as ecologically responsible construction. The regulations currently in force and under consideration all involve the ecologically responsible construction and social governance.
