A ceremony to commemorate the 154th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth was held on the morning of November 12 at the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen in Cuiheng Village, Nanlang Town. Representatives of more than 40 work units and organizations presented flower baskets to a portrait of Sun Yat-sen.

More than 200 people attended the commemoration, including Sun Yat-sen's relatives, city leaders, representatives of various political parties, industry and commerce associations and nonparty personage, heads of relevant municipal units and people's organizations, representatives of such institutions as Zhongshan Sun Yat-sen Research Association, representatives from Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan businessmen, compatriots and their relatives, overseas Chinese, returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, and township leaders, residents, teachers and students from Nanlang Town.

On the same day, the Sun Yat-sen Culture and History Tour and Cross-Straits Youth Research Camp, an activity of the 4th Zhongshan Forum for Cross Straits, also kicked off at the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen. A total of 60 outstanding youth representatives from Taiwan, Macao and the mainland gathered in Zhongshan for a 3-day learning exchange.
