The Spring Festival travel rush began on January 28 and will last for 40 days until March 8.

On the morning of January 28, workers, police and volunteers of Zhongshan Railway Station held a simple launching ceremony at the station entrance. "Since the end of last month, the number of passengers has gradually increased from 3,000 to about 5,000 per day," said a spokesperson for Zhongshan Railway Station.

About 6,000 passengers were expected on the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush at Zhongshan Railway Station on January 28, which was not much different from that before the Spring Festival.

The number of passengers at major stations in Zhongshan did not increase significantly, and railway and highway transportation were in order on the first day of the travel rush. The passenger peak before the Spring Festival is expected to occur the coming weekend.
