The main section of Hongqili Waterway Grand Bridge of the Nansha Port Railway system, known as the "No.1 Long Span Bridge in Asia", completed closure on February 3.

The construction of the bridge is coming to an end, and it is expected to be completed by the end of May.

The same day, Nansha Port Railway was connected to the existing Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, linking up the freight network along Guangzhou and Zhuhai. Nansha Port Railway is expected to enter the track-laying stage in June and to open to traffic by the end of this year.
