Zhongshan Public Security Bureau on February 7 held a press conference for the "Hurricane 2020" special campaign to report on the crackdown and rectification of crimes involving guns, telecommunication fraud, theft, robbery and fraud, drugs, and finance in Zhongshan last year.

In the past year, a total of 14,232 criminal cases were solved, 8,309 people were detained, and 4,171 people were arrested. The number of special actions conducted ranked first in the province.

Last year, Zhongshan police initiated or participated in 41 "Hurricane" operations, solved 1,500 cases and arrested more than 2,100 suspects. The number of reported criminal and public security cases in Zhongshan decreased by 26.64% year on year, among which the criminal cases decreased by 3.3% and the public security cases dropped by 34.1%, year-on-year respectively.

The exhibition area of the crackdown results at the press conference showed not only a large number of homemade guns, fake cigarettes and wine, forged brand name handbags, and wireless transmitters seized by the police, but also four meter-long tusks, three wild rhinocero horns, turtle specimens, etc.
