A visiting group composed of staff from the Zhongshan Military Sub-District and the Zhongshan Veterans Affairs Bureau on the afternoon of February 9 came to Qinglehua Neighborhood, Dongxing Community in Dongfeng Town to deliver good news to the family of Wu Jiayi, who had won a second-class merit.

The visiting group delivered the good news and expressed their greeting to Wu Jiayi's family with the gold medal, prize money, grain, oil, and other gifts.

In the women's-46kg taekwondo final of the 7th CISM Military World Games, Wu defeated Canadian athletes and won the championship. She was awarded a second-class merit for her excellent performance at the Military World Games.

Born in 1996, Wu Jiayi is a Zhongshan native. She joined the army in 2019 and became a directly enlisted non-commissioned officer.

In recent years, a large number of young people from Zhongshan have joined the army, earning a number of merits and growing into outstanding officers and soldiers.
