Qiwan Avenue will undergo a rapid transformation this year, and the plan is currently made public. An interchange, four underpass tunnels and an overpass bridge will be built to speed up the traffic flow of Qiwan Avenue, in addition to six east-west crossings for pedestrians.

The Qiwan Avenue Rapid Transformation Engineering starts at Sanjiao Expressway, crosses over the North Outer Ring Interchange connects with the Qijiang River Tunnel, and intersects with 21 roads including Haojiang Road West, Shiji Avenue, Kanghua Road, Sunwen Road East, Zhongshan Road, Bo'ai Road and Xingwen Road, and then finally connects with the Jinzishan Tunnel and ends at Tanzhou Expressway.
