Zhongshan launched its Emergency Mental Crisis Intervention Team on the afternoon of October 30. The intervention team consists of 4 sub-teams, with a total of 60 members.

Natural disasters, public health events and social security incidents will cause psychological crises. In order to improve the emergency management capability to psychological crises, Zhongshan establishes 4 emergency intervention teams. Each team consists of 15 professionals from the Zhongshan No.3 People's Hospital, Zhongshan People's Hospital, Zhongshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Zhongshan Bo'ai Hospital, Zhongshan No.2 People's Hospital, and some township and district departments.

These teams' main tasks include establishing a "green channel" for emergency psychiatric specialist services, organizing and coordinating the city's mental health rescue resources, and implementing psychological crisis intervention measures. These services are designed to reduce the psychological stress caused by emergencies to the public, while preventing and reducing the occurrence of stress-related obstacles. They will be responsible for reporting the psychological rescue situation to the Zhongshan Health Bureau and putting forward work suggestions. They will also evaluate and summarize psychological rescue work and conduct pre-service and routine training for emergency management and rescue professionals.
