China's first GBA radio station goes to air

China Media Group launched the Radio The Greater Bay, China's first national radio station dedicated to residents of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, at 7 am on September 1. A new media platform of Radio The Greater Bay was also operational on the same day.

Radio The Greater Bay covers 9 cities in the Pearl River Delta as well as Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. The radio frequency is FM 101.2 MHz and medium wave of 1215 KHz. The station will broadcast for 21 hours a day. 

The station and its new media platform will focus on financial innovation and life information services, strengthen information collection as well as policy interpretation on finance, entrepreneurship and employment, in a bid to meet the work and life needs of its audience in the Greater Bay Area. 

Broadcasts will be mainly in Cantonese, as well as  Hakka and Teochew, the three main dialects in the area.

The station will mainly broadcast news, financial reports, life, culture and music programs.
