Hong Kong elders who reside in Guangdong and Fujian provinces will be eligible for the "Old-age Allowance" introduced by the Hong Kong SAR Government from November. 

The Old-age Allowance is divided into two amounts, namely 2,675 yuan per month and 3,585 yuan per month. Elderly Hong Kong residents living in Zhongshan may go to the Zhongshan Consultancy Service Center of Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions for advice and applications. 

Under the "Guangdong Scheme" and the "Fujian Scheme", the Hong Kong SAR Government has introduced the Old-age Allowance. This allowance is payable annually, with no need to return to Hong Kong, for eligible Hong Kong elderly persons aged 65 and above who choose to emigrate to Guangdong or Fujian. The amount of the allowance is adjusted annually in accordance with the established mechanism. 

The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions is the largest labor organization in Hong Kong. Established in July 2012, the Zhongshan Consultancy Service Center mainly serves Hong Kong people in Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Maoming and Zhanjiang. 

It is reported that the "Guangdong Scheme" and the "Fujian Scheme" have already enabled elderly people from Hong Kong to claim welfare benefits from the Hong Kong SAR Government, thus benefiting more than 20,000 elderly people so far.
