Photos of egrets flying in the sun went viral on WeChat on October 12.

The egrets flew from the Xiguan River in Qunlian Village, Tanzhou Town, Zhongshan City. As migratory birds, they chose to spend the winter on the banks of the Xiguan River.

"Egrets came here, proving that the ecological environment at Xiguan River is good!" Liang Guihong, a villager nearby, said the egrets would like to stay in places with good air and water, so they are known as "environmental monitors".

This year Tanzhou Town continuously improve the water quality of rivers and promote the quality of the town, focusing on sewage removal and treatment. At present, many water pollution control projects are in their closing stages, and the overall water environment of the area has improved significantly.
