Winding through Shengshi Village in Zhongshan, the Shaxi section of the Shijiao River is known to local people as their "mother river." Once plagued by messy riverbanks and murky water from untreated household waste, the river has undergone a comprehensive remediation. The Shengshi Riverside Corridor opened in June 2023, finally breathing new life into the "mother river" and creating an ecological link between an ancient village and river banks.
