If you get off Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway from the Henglan Exit and drive another 200 meters, you will find a low-rise industrial plant along Qijiang Highway. This edifice, once renovated, is the Lighting Co-working Space (LCS) incubator.

LCS serves the lighting industry by devoting itself to introducing modern service providers, such as lighting design agencies, promotional video studios, IP protection institutions, and others. In other words, it introduces needed services to the lighting industry. In the past three years, LCS has served thousands of enterprises within Guzhen and Henglan towns.

LCS went operational in early 2016. So far, it has introduced over 20 enterprises, all of which have become important parts of the lighting industry service chain.

Liu Gang, who is in charge of the Zhongshan Lighting Co-working Space Makers Management Company, said that there are tens of thousands of lighting firms of various types surrounding LCS. Most of these enterprises are eager to transform and upgrade their operations. LCS is poised to become the total service provider of the lighting industry, Liu added.

By the end of December 2018, Zhongshan had 65 identified city-level or higher tech firm incubators and maker spaces. These included the national maker space LCS. Within the context of the city's "Establishing Benchmarks and Improving Quality" campaign of incubators, LCS has explored and developed a new incubator development mode that now provides common services for upgrading industrial capability.
