Zhongshan company Guangdong GLM Digital Technology Co Ltd was recently honored with the 20th China Patent Excellence Award by the National Intellectual Property Administration with its inventive patent, the "Water Color Ink-jet Printing Medium and Production Method", sources from National Health Technology Park said.

GLM was one of the two recommended of the Printing Technology Association of China in this selection. Its inventive patent, directed by Dr Zhou Guangbin, Chairman of GLM, applied the amphoteric star polymer to the color ink-jet printing medium to improve the color density and water resistant capability.

Dr Zhou is an expert in polymer application. He was one of the 7 backbone members of the world-famous Hewlett-Packard and Felix Schoeller's "Color Ink-jet Research Team". The HP color ink-jet gloss photo paper and color ink-jet printing paper designed by the team had raked in dozens of billion dollars in sales volume accumulatively. 

After returning to China, Dr Zhou initiated the founding of GLM. The company has several automatic, multi-functional production lines for coating and it currently serves as the main production base for China's mid-to-high-end color ink-jet medium.

Presently, 15 products of the company are identified as "High-Tech Products of Guangdong Province". Besides, GLM also has 2 certified invention patents and more than 20 patents for utility models.
