A media group of the interview event "A Trip to the Greater Bay Area", part of the first Media Summit of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, visited Zhongshan on the afternoon of May 21. The media group consisted of a dozen of central, provincial and Hong Kong-based media outlets.

The media group interviewed the Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation Base in Zhongshan E-Park as well as Mingyang Smart Energy Group Co Ltd on the day. It was there to learn about the entrepreneurial environment for the youth and technological innovation in Zhongshan.

Advantageous entrepreneurial atmosphere of Zhongshan drew the attention of on-site media reporters who praised the city's youth entrepreneurial development services and supportive policies as well as local enterprises' independent innovation. The media group looked forward to more opportunities to learn about and report on Zhongshan's developmental benefits.

Mr Yip, a university student from Hong Kong, became the focus of the media group for its business start up in the E-Park. Three years ago, when he first heard of the concept of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, he immediately saw a vision of business opportunities. After combing through resources and investigating the market demand, Yip and his elder brother founded Guangdong Ouye Cultural Media which they settled in the E-Park in 2017.

"Compared with Hong Kong, Zhongshan enjoys lower labor costs and preferential government policies, so I chose to start my business in Zhongshan. Moreover, my brother has skills and a background in the industry," said Yip. These advantages have allowed his company to flourish.

"Young people from Hong Kong and Macao may come to the E-Park to start up their businesses as long as they are no more than 35 years old. We will provide them with a one-stop service and a series of preferential policies. The site cost is estimated to be at least 50,000 yuan lower,” said Xiang Jiazhi, the E-Park director.

According to further information, the E-Park has been the catalyst for a total of 24 Hong Kong and Macao projects. These projects include ventures in e-commerce, cultural creativity, and modern services.

On the same day, the media group also interviewed the public company Mingyang Smart Energy Group Co Ltd. It was the initiatives and achievements in independent R&D and technological innovation that they learned about which left a deep impression on the group.
