On the afternoon of May 21, the workshops of Zhongshan Tongda Wire and Cable Industry Co Ltd, located in Nanwen Community, Dachong Town, were booming.

"We have three large workshops. The wires and cables we produce in one year could go around the earth ten times," said Tongda's Chairman Li Jianqing.

Over the past 20 years, Tongda has developed itself into a well-known brand that is highly qualified in the production of 35-kilovolt and below wires and cables, low smoke and halogen-free, flame retardant, fire-resistant wires and cables, and mineral insulated fire-proof cables. It's interesting to think that all of this comes from a small company that was only able to produce ordinary household cables in the very beginning.

Now, Tongda produces more than 70 series of products, and more than 1,000 wire and cable products of different types and specifications. The company is now capable of producing wire and cable that reaches 400,000 to 500,000 kilometers long annually.

Established in 1994, Tongda has always paid attention to product quality and technological innovation. In addition, the company has been contributing to the power supply project for the world-class Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB).

"Helping light up this century-level project enables us to be more confident in future development," Li said proudly.

Besides the list of cooperative projects, Tongda's partners are from provinces and regions all across China. These include residential districts built by famous real estate companies like Agile and Vanke. In fact, it also includes hotels, hospitals and stations in many Pearl River Delta cities, and a variety of key projects such as Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou Metro and Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center.

Thanks to its strength in innovation, Tongda was recently enrolled into the "2018 High-tech Enterprise List of Guangdong". Tongda now becomes the first Zhongshan company in the cable industry to be listed as such.
