The Zhongshan Drug Innovation Public Service Platform, co-founded by the Torch Development Zone-based Guangdong Sunho Pharmaceutical Co Ltd together with Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, CAS last year, has currently attracted more than 20 projects of pharmaceutical R&D companies across the country to share their technologies and services.

Recently, three Zhongshan projects were included in the "2019 Guangdong High-quality Economic Development Promotion Fund (Industrial Innovation Capacity and Platform Construction) Supporting Program", one of which was the "Small Water Injection Preparation Technology" project from the platform.

According to Xin Rong, deputy general manager of Guangdong Sunho Pharmaceutical, the "Small Water Injection Preparation Technology" project reflects the platform's innovation capacity and helps its technology of small water injection preparations comply with the latest international standards.

The platform aims to serve at least 30 companies and provides services such as process development and sample preparation for registration for 5-10 pre-market drugs (including 1-5 innovative drugs) every year.

"At present, we have an operational innovation laboratory. In order to satisfy the R&D demands of more companies, we are going to build another one this year," said Xin Rong.
