The closing ceremony for the last batch of Hong Kong students participating in the "2019 Zhongshan Greater Bay Area Internship Program for Hong Kong and Macao Youths" was organized on August 23 at the E-park Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, where they shared their internship experiences. So far, about 60 youths from Hong Kong and Macao have completed their internships this year. 

Cheung Wing-yiu, who came to Zhongshan for an internship for the first time, is a member of the Design Department of Zhongshan Four Seas Furniture Mfg Ltd. He had a deeper understanding of the preparation of related materials, furniture assembly and factory processes thanks to this internship. He also designed and assembled a set of desks called "Ladder in the Cloud" with his peers.

Talking about future career development, Cheung believes that Zhongshan is a good choice. "The most important thing for finding a job is interest. I am willing to try a job, whether in Hong Kong or the Mainland, if I am interested in."

The Greater Bay Area Internship Program for Hong Kong and Macao Youths (Zhongshan), formerly known as the Hong Kong Youth Summer Internship Program, has been organized since 2015. This year, for the first time, youths from Macao have come to Zhongshan for internships thereby joining more than 10 local institutions and companies. Their internships were in the fields of medicine and health, product design, finance and insurance, and activity planning.
