On March 24, the 3-storey, 20-meter-high production workshop of Zhongshan NPK Advanced Materials Co Ltd underwent trial production. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NPK, a listed company in South Korea. NPK plans to build this company as its headquarters in China.

The factory construction started in November 2018 and has been completed for trial production. It is expected that the capacity plan of 100,000 tons of high-performance ABS modified engineering plastics will be realized next year.

Kim Jong-kun, General Manager of Zhongshan NPK New Materials Co Ltd, said that at present, the first batch of five newly introduced production lines have an annual output of 50,000 tons. The company plans to add 5 more production lines next year to bring the total production capacity of the base to 100,000 tons.

The main customers of the modified materials produced by NPK include LG Chem, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Kia Automotive, TORAY, SKC, Renault and Nissan Motor, Mercedes-Benz, and other domestic and foreign giant manufactures in the electrical, electronic, and automobile industries.

In recent years, Zhongshan has continuously improved the level of project establishment and construction, focusing on the development of a new generation of information technology, health medicine, high-end equipment, artificial intelligence, digital economy, new materials, new energy, and other emerging industries.
