On April 3 in Zuobu Village, Nanlang Town, Feng Jianwei told Zhongshan Daily that he was going to introduce Australian lobsters into rice fields to generate novel benefits.

Graduated from South China Agricultural University, Feng Jianwei came home to take over his father's more than 100 mu (about 6.67 hectares) of farmland. Since then he has been trying to increase income from grain production.

In 2017, Feng learned the technology of cultivating crayfish in rice fields. So far, he has successfully explored such ecological co-cultivation modes as "duck-rice co-cultivation", "fish-rice co-cultivation" and "crayfish-rice co-cultivation".

Last year, he put 200 ducks in the rice field. Not only were there fewer diseases and insect pests in the rice field, but the ducks raised were also especially delicious. "500g of duck can be sold for 80 yuan, and all of the ducks raised have been ordered."

This year, Feng plans to introduce some Australian freshwater lobsters in the fields. He said that raising the Australian freshwater lobster in rice fields is profitable due to their large size, good quality as well as good price, which is two or three times that of ordinary crayfish.
