The 5th China Innovation Challenge (Guangdong Zhongshan Torch) and the 3rd "Maker Bay Area" Zhongshan Torch Technology Coordination Challenge kicked off on July 30 at the Technology and Finance Service Center in Torch Development Zone.

This competition focuses on the bio-pharmaceutical industry and combines new-generation electronic information technology, photoelectric information and high-end equipment manufacturing industries. So far, more than 30 technical demands have been collected.

Torch Development Zone has given policy support to participating enterprises, teams and individuals who offered technical solutions. For participating teams introduced by the demanders, once they are selected into the municipal innovation and entrepreneurship teams after evaluation, they can receive a maximum of 30 million yuan of scientific research funds.

In addition, the participating projects settled in Torch Development Zone will have priority to enter ZOS-Park (Zhonghsan Overseas Students Park of China), and enjoy rent abatement, subsidies and other privileges. Projects that meet the conditions for returned overseas students to start businesses can receive up to 2 million yuan of start-up funds and up to 0.5 million yuan of incubation funds.
