Guangdong Homa Refrigerator Co Ltd on March 18 began the construction of its high-end refrigerator manufacturing base in Nantou Town, the China Household Appliance Brand Base. The project will cost about 1.2 billion yuan and the construction will last for 12 months.

The new base is located to the south of Yuegui East Road and to the west of Xingnan No.2 Road in Nantou Town, 4 kilometers away from Homa's headquarters. It covers an area of 108 mu, including 3 factory buildings and a 15-story dormitory building.

In addition, the new base will introduce high-tech manufacturing production lines to add 3 million units to its production capacity and 3 billion yuan to its annual revenue as well as to create 2,500 jobs, so that the company's total production capacity can reach 16 million units per year.

Homa is a nationally famous brand born in Zhongshan. Since its establishment in 2002, Homa has maintained continuous growth in sales and revenue for 19 consecutive years. The company's refrigerator export volume has been number one in China for 12 consecutive years.

In 2020, Homa fought to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and sold 11.15 million refrigerators and freezers, up 17.3% year on year. The company achieved an operating income of 8.3 billion yuan, up 16.1% year on year, setting a new record.

Homa president Yao Youjun said that the company's sales volume is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan this year and exceed 15 billion yuan within the next 5 years.
