An investigative group on April 17 went on the "Greater Bay Area, Greater Future" trip to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Platform in East District, Zhongshan for interviews. Three young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao were surrounded by journalists.
Dr Poon Hung-fai, a Hong Kong youth born in the 1980s and founder of QuaCell Biotechnology Co Ltd, shared his story in Mandarin, Cantonese and English about his entrepreneurial path after returning to China, the reasons he settled in Zhongshan, and the rapid development of his company. Poon suggested that young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao should make their own entrepreneurial choices after visiting Zhongshan.
On the same day, the other two entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao, whose projects all settled in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Platform in Zhongshan, were also interviewed. "Free office spaces and guidance from enterprise mentors on policy, law, finance, accounting and more are easily accessible here," said one of them.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Platform is a non-profit business incubation base planned and invested in by the Zhongshan People's Government and it has provided incubation services for 413 project teams since it was put into operation. Currently, 33 Hong Kong- and Macao-invested projects are being incubated, mainly involving e-commerce, culture creativity, modern services, and other areas.
