The three astronauts of Shenzhou-12, Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo, entered the Tianhe core module on June 17 and became the first "residents" of China's space station.
The microwave oven, one of two Zhongshan-made products stepping into the station, was developed by Galanz (Zhongshan) Electrical Appliances Ltd. It can provide astronauts with hot home-made meals. It is the first time a commonly-seen microwave oven is sent into space.
Galanz set up an aerospace-specification microwave oven project team in Zhongshan in 2011. Counting the moment of project approval to the recent 2021 space launch, the aerospace-specification microwave oven has been in R&D for 10 years. The Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft was launched on the evening of May 29, bringing the world's first aerospace microwave oven developed by Galanz Group into space.
The microwave oven boasts ultra-first-class energy efficiency through the integration and innovation of spare parts. In the space station, meals for the 3 astronauts can be prepared in just 7 minutes.
In addition, vacuum compression storage bags produced by Guangdong Taili Technology Group have also been brought into the space station. It is the 10th time that Taili-made products have been sent into space.
