"This summer vacation, we will launch our first course," said Ho Chi-wai, a young entrepreneur from Macao and founder of Zhongshan Wuji Sports Co Ltd, which is registered with the Zhongshan Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurial Cooperation Platform (the E-Park).
As a huge fan of basketball, Ho joined the JL Basketball League and decided to introduce its professional training courses of to his hometown Zhongshan city, Guangdong province.
Ho was born in 1989 and is now a postgraduate student in law at the University of Macau. In December 2020, after a spontaneous visit to the Greater Bay Area, he found that Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhongshan all provide Hong Kong and Macao youth with a strong support in entrepreneurship.
On second thought, Ho chose Zhongshan as the starting point of his basketball training career due to its greater market potential in basketball training compared with other big cities.
In March this year, Ho settled his company in the E-Park through an entrepreneurial roadshow. Here, he can enjoy exemption from rent, property fees and service fees for 3 years. In addition, a business subsidy of 10,000 yuan as well as 3,000 yuan for each new employee are available.
Ho added that the E-Park provides many services for business startups including industrial and commercial registration, fiscal and taxation agency, legal consultation, trademark agency, and more.
"The GBA has provided a large development space with support in living, employment and entrepreneurship for us. We are confident in our ability to expand our business in this promising place." Ho said his entrepreneurial experience in Zhongshan leads him to believe he has made the right choice.
